Spring Bowling League - 811030

Our adaptive bowling league is a great place to meet new friends, have fun, and work on your bowling skills. Choose the league that suits you best; the 2 game recreational league, or the more competitive 3 game league. Many of our bowlers have developmental disabilities or traumatic brain injury. At the end of the season we will celebrate with a pizza party! Hope Network clients are welcome along with the public. Please bring cash every week to pay the bowling alley weekly bowling fees. $7 for 2 games, $8 for 3 games.

What in the world is pickleball? Come see what all the excitement is about! Pickleball is a fast paced exciting racquet game that all abilities can enjoy! Come learn the rules and fundamentals of the game with our first ever adaptive pickleball clinic. Wheelchair users and non-wheelchair users are welcome. Get out on the greens this Summer at Scott Lake Country Club. Improve your golf game while enjoying the beautiful course and scenery. No previous golf experience is required. If you need clubs, let us know and we can provide loaners. You must have a valid current driver’s license to operate the golf carts. An adapted golf cart is available if needed. Water Ski / Lessons - 821630

Enjoy the clear waters of ole Lake Barlow! Experienced Kentwood Parks and Recreation ski instructors will aid participants in an experience like no other. For beginners, enjoy the freedom of the sit ski. For more advanced skiers, try out the more challenging wake board! All equipment and instruction will be provided. ADAPTED SWIM SUMMER - 827030

Our adaptive swim lessons are designed for children physical and/or developmental disabilities. We do encourage siblings to participate, too! Lessons will focus on strokes, floating, safety, games, and more! Private lessons are offered for children who would benefit from one on one attention. Please bring a swim suit, towel, aquatic diaper (if necessary), and goggles. Upon registration, you will receive an 8 visit punch card good for the summer season. After receiving your punch card please call instructor Debi Crawford-Poyner to schedule your Saturday dates and times. Her number will be on the card.

The Leisure Club is a group of young adults that get together weekly to do something fun in our community. This group is a great place for teens and adults with developmental disabilities to socialize, try new things, and engage in positive leisure experiences. The leisure club meets at the Kentwood Activities Center or at various locations in the community. Activities could include going out to dinner, art, sports and games, or special community events.
